Wine state Burgenland
Burgenland is the second largest vinicultural state in Austria. Grape seeds from the Hallstadt culture were discovered in a barrow in Zagersdorf and can be associated with the vitis vinifera vine.
It is said that the Celts already knew that grapes are not only for eating.

Sonnenland Mittelburgenland
The sun feels at home here. One could assume that it might be in love with the “mittlere Burgenland”. The sun does not only shine here much earlier but also much more often and stays much longer than anywhere else. 300 days per year. Locals recognized the warmth and affection of the sun and decided to name the whole county after it.
